About Dr. Habiel
Miriam M. Habiel, MD — earned her bachelor degree from Stony Brook University in 2008. She obtained her MD from Meharry Medical College School of Medicine in 2012. She completed an internship at Stony Brook College and went onto complete her residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious New York Medical College, where she served as chief resident. After residency, Dr. Habiel completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Ochsner Health System.
Dr. Habiel specializes in medical and surgical treatments of glaucoma andcataract surgery. She is a strong believer that the treatment of glaucomais as much about preserving vision as it is helping her patients maintaintheir quality of life. She seeks to keep her patients informed and tailor their care to each individual’s needs.
Dr. Habiel is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Glaucoma Society.
In her spare time, Miriam Habiel enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, along with snorkeling and diving.
