State of The Art Facility and doctors. Exceeded my expectations. Extremely careful regarding Covid19….Everybody wearing masks, etc. Thank you

Dr. Kung and Dr. Chen are wonderful. Coming from 40 years of excellent care from my prior ophthalmologist, who just retired, I had high expectations, and those have been met! The office is well-run, and all the staff have been kind and competent. Thank you!

Dear Kung is an absolute genius! In my opinion he is the best cataract surgeon in NY city.

You may wish to seek a second opinion if:

  • You feel you have been diagnosed incorrectly with an eye disease.
  • You wish to confirm your candidacy for eye surgery such as LASIK.
  • You are not satisfied with your physician’s responses to your questions or concerns.
  • You wish to see if a different doctor can offer a new perspective to a situation or offer a different course of treatment.
  • Your contacts sometimes fall out or are poorly fitted.
  • You just don’t feel satisfied with your current care.

In many cases, you will not need a referral for a second opinion. However, if you do require a referral, simply ask your current physician or eye doctor, and mention your concern. While some people may feel intimidated or do not want to offend their current doctor, there is no need to worry. Any doctor should be open to the idea of a second opinion in order to best meet their client’s needs. It is also important to keep open communication between yourself and your physicians to increase the potential for the best outcomes.

Some tips to prepare for a second opinion visit include:

  • Learn as much as you can on your own about your situation, and try to determine which type of treatment you would like.
  • Write down any concerns that you have so that you can discuss them with your second doctor.
  • Write down a list of questions you may have for your second doctor. These questions may cover many topics, including your treatment options, the benefits and risks of these options, and what may happen if you choose to wait on treatment.
